Bière de Ventoux

Concept: Bière de Ventoux is a traditional Biere de Gard, brewed on the top of Mount Ventoux during the winter and spring using only regional, organic ingredients. Bière de Ventoux is branded towards the extreme ascent of the Beast of Provence which professional cyclists have set as a goal since the first time it was featured in the Tour de France in 1951. Mount Ventoux is respected for not only it’s beauty but for the powerful conditions it contains. Bière de Ventoux is wanting to represent this natural wonder with its strong Pale Ale brew as well as its traditional methods that prove to stand as strong as Mount Ventoux does.

Design: Bière de Ventoux’s bottle style was inspired by the traditional French brewing method known as Bière de Garde. This beer is originally brewed in farmhouses and stored in cork-sealed bottles. Pairing with the Beast of Provence, Mt. Ventoux, the bottle designs work together to show the strength of the mountain as well as the traditions of French beer.

This was intended to be a specialty beer that is only acquired in packages of 3. In order to create a more efficient way of production for the boxes, I designed a new way of packaging. The box would be printed in one single sheet, with ink only on one side, onto cardboard and easily folded into the perfect carrier for the bottles — thus making production smooth for packagers as well as making a unique experience for beer drinkers.
